Baby it's cold outside

I met this nice family Saturday Morning.  I think it was the coldest morning this season.  It was cold but the sun was out and it turned out to be such a nice day. The morning was cold though.  They were all such troopers.  This sweet baby was cold but never fussed and did her job perfectly.  Her job was to sit and look adorable.  As you can see she was perfect.  Nice meeting you N family.  Thank you so much for sharing your sweet baby with me. I'm sorry it was so cold and if I had any control over it. Well you better believe it, I would have turned it up a few degrees.

Perfect days

One of those perfect fall days.  When the sun is bright and the air is clean and crisp.  The kids are full of joy and laughter.  Just a perfect day :)  I've become quite fond of this particular family.  They are our new neighbors...well we are really their new neighbors :)  My kids adore these kids.  There isn't a day that goes by that they don't ask to play with them.  Of course it's easy to see why they are really great kids.  We got some fun family shots too but I haven't gotten that far yet in the session.  Had fun L family, see you soon :)

Fun on a ranch

This is such a great family.  They moved here from California a couple of years ago to start a ranch.  All organic with free range chickens.  I have to admit last year I was out there taking newborn pictures and I was a little uneasy around the chickens.  This year I'm happy to report those chickens didn't scare me one bit.   Not sure why I was scared last year, seems a little ridiculous now. :) It was great to see the progress, they are doing an amazing job.  They have done so much in the past year.  It makes me wonder why I can't seem to get the last few rooms of our house painted. I'm inspired now!  I was honored when they asked me to take some photos for their website.  I had a blast and can't wait to order for some fresh eggs.

That is an excellent question that I am asked quite frequently.  A good rule of thumb is to pick colors, patterns and textures that coordinate together.  So if it would look good as one outfit it will look good for the whole family.  I love accessories like hats, scarves, boots, and fun bright jewelry.  Those details will make all come together.  Here are some examples I've found online.
